Lists are important.

Before you head to the grocery, it's good to know both what you need and what you already have. If you head to the store when hungry and unprepared, you might come home with, say, two boxes of Captain Crunch with Crunchberries after you already bought two of them. (Wait, what are we saying? That'd be amazing!)

You get the picture here. Before we can properly debate the pros and cons of re-signing Chris Jones or L'Jarius Sneed, we need to know what's already in the cupboards for the coming season. Which positions are really thin? Where might hidden talent be lurking? What is really a need and what is not? It's time to take inventory this offseason.

Before the Kansas City Chiefs make any moves on defense—whether in free agency or the draft—let’s take a look at who is already under contract on the team for 2024 and what that means going forward.
