Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was named the winner of the AFC's Offensive Player of the Week for Week 12 of the 2023 regular season.

Mahomes led the Chiefs to a dominant win over the Las Vegas Raiders on the road at Allegiant Stadium in Week 12. The 31-17 final gave the Chiefs a nearly insurmountable lead in the AFC West, which should help the team claim their eighth consecutive division title.

For the week, Mahomes threw for 298 passing yards and 2 touchdowns against Las Vegas while completing nearly 80 percent of his throws with zero interceptions. It was his third-highest passer rating of the season at 122.8.

So far this season, Mahomes has led the Chiefs to an 8-3 record through 11 games and 12 weeks, and the team sits in full control of their own destiny to playoff positioning. Even if every single team wins out, including the Chiefs, K.C. will hold the coveted No. 1 seed that brings with it a bye week and home-field advantage throughout the postseason.

The win for AFC OPOW is the 10th such award for Mahomes in his career as a starting quarterback—trailing only three other active quarterbacks for such honors. Those quarterbacks with more Offensive Player of the Week wins include Aaron Rodgers (19), Josh Allen (12), and Russ Wilson (11).

As for the rest of this week's winners, Jacksonville Jaguars pass rusher Josh Allen was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for the first time since Week 18 of last year. Also punter Ryan Stonehouse of the Houston Texans was named Special Teams Player of the Week in the conference.
