Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce can match NFL postseason record with touchdown
By Matt Conner
Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are certainly not strangers to the NFL record books. Even as Kelce is in the twilight of his Hall of Fame-worthy career while Mahomes is in his prime, both players continue to shatter new marks with each year of stellar production and team wins.
The NFL postseason is just another level upon which both Kelce and Mahomes can showcase their greatness, and another tremendous milestone that's waiting to be tied is when the two of them combine their abilities on the same play.
As it turns out, Mahomes and Kelce have the chance to tie an NFL record for the most all-time touchdowns between a quarterback and a receiver in this playoff run.
The pair of stars for the Kansas City Chiefs can reach a new postseason milestone on Saturday.
The all-time NFL record for the most touchdown catches by a single receiver from a quarterback is 15 for Rob Gronkowski, a legendary tight end who caught his scores from quarterback Tom Brady when both played for the New England Patriots dynasty. Mahomes and Kelce have connected on 14 touchdowns so far in their postseason runs.
The Chiefs begin yet another ascent up the postseason mountain by hosting the Miami Dolphins on Saturday in the Wild Card round. The Chiefs certainly aren't the favorites anymore after allowing the top seed to slip away down the stretch to the Baltimore Ravens—despite their status as returning champs and their three Super Bowl appearances in the last four seasons.
