Rookies, quarterbacks and some veterans coming off of injury reported to Chiefs training camp on Tuesday. For Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the squad, a three-peat will be the main goal this upcoming season.

Popping off the pads and installing parts of the KC system will soon commence. Andy Reid's training camps are notoriously grueling compared to others around the NFL. Those have translated into successful and productive seasons for Coach Reid. However, finding time to relax and rest the mind is also important during training camp.

Mahomes discussed that he is doing something new at training camp this year. As he met with the media when reporting on Tuesday, Mahomes said, "It's my first year I'm bringing a TV." Now entering his eighth career year in Kansas City, the quarterback is hauling the television for football-themed entertainment. Overall, this form of entertainment is not completely new. It is definitely nostalgic, nonetheless.

"So, I haven't brought a TV ever before," Mahomes said. "But, NCAA ('College Football 25' video game) came out and I'm going to have to turn it on. So, I brought a TV for NCAA and the Olympics."

The frenzy surrounding 'College Football 25' and its release is at an all-time high for video game fans. For those that spent hours playing game after game on previous versions of NCAA college football, the wait was roughly 11 years since the previous release of a college football game. As mentioned by IGN, EA Sports canceled the series because the license to the NCAA was lost, in addition to college athletes bringing forth a class-action lawsuit because their likeness was not authorized within the college sports video games.

But with this latest version of a college football game, players are added in the game as themselves, as far as name and look goes. And with NIL (name, image and likeness) deals being provided to college athletes in the last few years, it paved the way for the return of one of the most popular sports video game series of all-time.

Mahomes is like all of the people who have the latest gaming console and access to 'College Football 25'. The nostalgia of being able to play a college football video game again is something that many have cherished and reminisced over.

The growth of football, especially at the college level, along with the added power that players have makes for a fresh excitement surrounding the game. And for someone in Mahomes' position, his college career ended while the college football video game series was in the middle of its hiatus. Simply put, the Chiefs quarterback is probably chomping at the bit just as much as an everyday football fan to see what this latest release is all about.

There may also be some added benefits for Mahomes and the Chiefs with this addition of a television at training camp. For one, there could be opportunities for him and his teammates to build added camaraderie. Football players already spend so much of their time together during the season. With the nostalgic feeling of this new college football video game, Mahomes and other Kansas City players may play the game as if they were hanging out like younger kids who are getting to enjoy the game every day.

In addition to camaraderie and building relationships, this opportunity could always lead to incorporations and adjustments to their own team. It is well documented how Coach Reid will listen to Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and other players for input on possible new offensive plays.

What if some random college playbook within 'College Football 25' leads to another patented Kansas City trick play at some point in the upcoming season? While some fans may scoff at the idea of video games being added to Mahomes' training camp routine, it could lead to even more knowledge for when he takes the field.
