Patrick Mahomes: 'I told y'all I'll never let Travis Kelce leave'
By Matt Conner
Patrick Mahomes and others had some great reactions to the news that Travis Kelce had signed a new two-year contract extension.
On Monday afternoon, news broke via NFL reporter Ian Rapoport that Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had reached an agreement with the team on a new two-year extension to keep him around through the 2027 season.
And if you thought you were relieved at the news, you can be sure no one was more juiced that Patrick Mahomes.
Shortly following the announcement, plenty of Chiefs fans, analysts, reporters, and fellow players took to social media to share their own excitement for the news that Kelce would be sticking around for the next several seasons. Mahomes, however, had the best response:
At this point Kelce is already known as one of the best tight ends to ever play the game—if not the best—but these next four seasons will give him the runway to put away any competition that wants to enter the debate for the best TE in NFL history. Although Chase Daniel is already giving him the title.
Interestingly enough, Travis decided to sign on for a few more on the same day that his brother found his new lane following his retirement from the Philadelphia Eagles.
Back to Travis. We couldn't agree more with the following sentiment, but we'll take what we can get.
Then again, some of us are predicting that he ends up staying that long anyway.
And just in case you forgot that Travis Kelce was kicking ass and taking names in other areas of his life as well....
