Patrick Mahomes still favored to win NFL MVP

A two-time MVP already, Mahomes has seen his odds of winning the MVP rise since the start of the offseason, as he’s the clear-cut favorite to win his third MVP in the 2024 season. 

It’s possible the Chiefs’ move to sign speedy wideout Marquise Brown has oddsmakers bullish on Mahomes’ outlook in the 2024 season, as he didn’t have much help at receiver last season. 

The Chiefs moved on from Marquez Valdes-Scantling this offseason, but the team now has three elite weapons in Rashee Rice (who thrived as a rookie), future Hall of Famer Travis Kelce, and Brown. 

A former first-round pick, Brown had a 1,000-yard season in 2021, but he’s missed time in each of the last two seasons which hurt his numbers. Still, if healthy, he’s one of the better deep threats in the league. 

Mahomes threw for just 27 scores last season – the second-lowest total of his career as a starter – but he could be in line to bounce back in an improved offense. He showed all postseason that he’s still easily the best quarterback in the NFL. 

Chiefs fans may want to consider betting on Mahomes’ MVP odds now in case he gets off to a fast start in 2024, which would undoubtedly shrink this number.
