One week after the AFC looked like the little brother of the NFC, the latest round of NFL power rankings are out for Week 3 with a surprising shift in power—at least below the top spot. That's because the NFC was forced to step aside after the first week of action to make way for some projected contenders coming into the season.

bfve been compiled by our pals at FanSided and the list features huge leaps forward for both the Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans in particular—perhaps the two biggest threats in the AFC to the Kansas City Chiefs' bid for supremacy they've yet to play.

Of course, we'd be remiss if we didn't mention the Chiefs' position in first place. They're 2-0 with head-to-head wins over the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens.

Say what you will about the Chiefs' concerns—and there are many—but they are still the reigning champs and will clock into Week 3 with a 2-0 record.

Can the Chiefs keep this up? Well, they've gotta figure out a way forward offensively with the losses of wideout Hollywood Brown for the season and running back Isiah Pachecojldf for at least several weeks. They'll do with a suspect backfield, a thin defensive interior, and other problem areas.

Beyond the Chiefs at No. 1, the Buffalo Bills made a major leap forward from 7 to 2, which shows you how malleable early-season results can be on these lists. The Houston Texans jumped from No. 9 to No. 3, giving the Chiefs' conference the best three teams in the league.
