NFL Power Rankings, Week 14: Eagles, Chiefs losses shake up the top

It was a wilder week than usual in the NFL, particularly from the upper-echalon of our power rankings. With losses from Kansas City and Philadelphia, nothing seems quite right. We discuss.

19. Las Vegas Raiders (5-7)

Last Week: 17 (-2)

(BYE WEEK)

20. Minnesota Vikings (6-6)

Last Week: 18 (-2)

(BYE WEEK)

21. Atlanta Falcons (6-6)

Last Week: 19 (-2)

The Falcons just narrowly escaped the Jets. With a team of young stars, Arthur Smith is rumored to be safe for this cycle. I can understand wanting to give a guy a second chance. Hell, I remember thinking that Romeo Crennel might not be a bad head coach if he got another chance. In this case, however, I can't truly rationalize giving Smith yet another chance. Atlanta is not good and part of the reason for that is an inability to use stars.

22. New Orleans Saints (5-7)

Last Week: 20 (-2)

The Saints looked terrible in their start against the Lions but then went on a quick run that almost resulted in a comeback victory. New Orleans looks like the team to beat in the NFC South, but they are not good.

23. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-7)

Last Week: 23 (-)

The Bucs almost lost to the Panthers. Honestly, they are in need of a rebuild and I'm not sure if they know it yet. They have a lot of mediocrity and a bunch of has beens on their roster. I can't imagine that this team is recognizable next season.

24. Washington Commanders (4-9)

Last Week: 22 (-2)

Yeesh. The Commanders are a bad enough team that they become the latest victim of Miami's explosive offense. Sam Howell has a million yards, but it is very clear that this defense is among the worst in the league. I can't imagine that Ron Rivera will get another shot next season.
