NFL Power Rankings, Week 1: Where do Chiefs begin title defense?
By Grant Tuttle
29. Las Vegas Raiders
Somehow, the Raiders have never recovered from the victory lap around Arrowhead Stadium. Josh McDaniels somehow still has a job as an NFL head coach. Even if we weren't all Chiefs fans, we could see that the Raiders were headed for certain disaster. They seemingly have no plan, even after a disappointing year a season last season. They will have an average to above-average offense and they will have a bottom-of-the-league defense. For Las Vegas, the misery is not ending any time soon.
30. Houston Texans
The Texans are doing the opposite of the Titans. While that means they will be bad for the next season, it means that they have hope for the future. CJ Stroud was a dominant collegiate athlete and that could carry the Texans to competitiveness, but not much further for this season. The Texans will go as far as their defense carries them.
31. Arizona Cardinals
Obviously, everyone hates the Cardinals' chances this season. I am with you, but Kyler Murray might eventually get right and lead them to an occasional victory. With that being said, they truly have no chance of winning more than six games this season.
32. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay had better enjoy the memories of Tom Brady beating the Chiefs because winning will soon be a scarcity. With a number of aging veterans at key positions and Baker Mayfield under center, the Bucs are in prime position to fall to the bottom of the NFL world. Perhaps I am too hard on them, but they looked awful with the best quarterback of all time at the helm last season. Now Baker Mayfield? They are in more trouble than they realize.
