Marquise Brown contract details makes Chiefs look even smarter for signing him
The past two years might have resulted in Super Bowl victories for the Kansas City Chiefs and what's made those titles even more impressive is that Patrick Mahomes didn't have his best wide receiver or even an above-average wide receiver room. That should change this year, especially after the Chiefs were able to land Marquise "Hollywood" Brown in free agency.
Brown, a first-round pick in the 2019 draft by the Ravens, has spent time in Baltimore and Arizona and now is headed to Kansas City, hoping to win the first ring of his pro career. Now he'll have the opportunity to do that and be one of Mahomes' favorite targets.
Well, Hollywood's contract details have been revealed so let's take a look at the numbers.
Hollywood Brown's contract details
Hollywood has a great chance to cash in with these incentives. If the newest Chiefs receiver is able to score seven touchdowns, he can earn an extra $1 million and if he finishes the year with over 1,000 receiving yards, that's another $1.5 million for the former first-round pick.
Considering that Mahomes has been working with a less-than-ideal receiver corps over the past two years, he'll be thrilled to have Hollywood to throw to and the two should be able to put up some nice numbers together. Some might have been concerne a bit with Hollywood's injury history but he'll be rewarded if he can stay healthy. If he appears in 75% of offensive snaps, Hollywood can earn another $1.5 million.
This is an exciting free-agent signing for the Chiefs because it feels a major area of weakness for them. Now Hollywood joins a Rashee Rice and Travis Kelce as Mahomes' favorite weapons and it wouldn't be crazy if the Chiefs still opted to use their first-round pick on another receiver.
Looking at the numbers, this deal looks even sweeter.
