When watching Louis Rees-Zammit do what he does best, it's not hard to see the potential. Whether running with his colleagues at training camp or playing his first love of rugby, LRZ is a naturally gifted athlete with a rare skill set that can't be taught.

So it's easy to see why both the Kansas City Chiefs took a swing at making things work and why another team is signing up for the chance.

The Jags have decided to see if they can be the team to unlock LRZ's potential.

On Wednesday, news broke via NFL reporter Jordan Schultz that the Jacksonville Jaguars have worked out a deal with Rees-Zammit to be his second home in the National Football League.

Rees-Zammit is available because his first go-round with the Chiefs did not work out as hoped. The former Welsh rugby star is attempting to switch sports in a rare move through the league's International Player Pathways program.

The Chiefs afforded him the chance to make the team as a running back and kickoff specialist in coordination with new league rules for kickoffs in 2024. However, the Chiefs decided to go in other directions after a summer together.

As for the Jags, it will be interesting to see how he fits on the roster and their plan to continue to push him to grow. While things didn't work out with the Chiefs, Kansas City's coaches were not short on their praise for LRZ and the work he put in over time. At times it was clear that he was new to the sport, but he proved to be a quick learner and his skill set shone through several times in practice sessions and exhibitions.
