Arizona Cardinals

If you want to know how dire the situation is at cornerback for the Cardinals these days, just know that this is where former Chiefs Rashad Fenton and Antonio Hamilton have gone to continue their careers even through 2023.

Last year, the Cardinals were highly dependent on multiple rookies in the secondary and, at one point, were starting three of them across the board: Garrett Williams, Kei'Trel Clark, and Starling Thomas V. The experienced gained last year was vital for the long-term health of the defense, but this unit needs a top-tier cornerback and they need one now.

Consider how much of what head coach Jonathan Gannon wants to do on defense depends on having a lockdown option atop the depth chart. Importing L'Jarius Sneed would certainly fit the bill and lend a whole new level of respect to the unit that would also have Budda Baker helping to lead the charge.

The Cardinals have just over $50 million in cap space as well as two first-round picks and No. 35 overall in the second round. While the Cards might be reticent to give up a first in a tag-and-trade, that early second could do the trick and Arizona could walk away from this offseason with a franchise corner as well as two first-round choices. That's a great offseason.
