3rd Round Pick: Jermaine Burton

Alabama wide receiver Jermaine Burton has all of the tools to be a top-level talent in the NFL. Matt Harmon (from Reception Perception) even has Burton as a top 5 WR in this draft class. His ability to get open over the middle of the field is unrivaled in this draft class, and his quickness in and out of breaks is almost Antonio Brown-esque.

Burton is most likely a "slot only" guy in the NFL, but his quick twitch and start-and-stop speed are going to be a problem for defensive backs around the league.

While Burton is a first-round talent, his attitude and off-the-field issues are going to drop him down draft boards significantly. In 2022 an incident was caught on video, where Burton can be seen punching a female Tennessee fan in the face when she rushed the field. Off-the-field issues aren't the only thing holding teams back from drafting him either. He hasn't shown on tape that he can consistently get open down the field and he has trouble running consistent routes.

Taking Burton in the 3rd-round would definitely be a risk, but the Chiefs desperately need a spark at the WR position. Burton, as a compliment to Hollywood Brown and Rashee Rice, would be the perfect receiving trio to secure a deep postseason run.
