Kamal Hadden joins Kansas City Chiefs' rookie class in sixth round of 2024 NFL Draft
By Matt Conner
After waiting dozens of picks before making their latest selection, the Kansas City Chiefs were finally back on the clock near the end of the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. At No. 211 overall, the Chiefs submitted a draft card with Kamal Hadden's name on it.
Hadden is a cornerback prospect out of Tennessee who was one of the team's best defensive players. He's a physical corner with 8 deflections and 3 interceptions in 7 games last season for the Vols who is coming off of shoulder surgery.
The Kansas City Chiefs added the sixth member of their draft class by picking cornerback Kamal Hadden in the sixth round.
The major piece of this puzzle is going to come down to medicals for the Chiefs, which means inside info on the part of the team's training staff will be critical to his evaluation. That said, the Chiefs are sorting things out at the position with the loss of L'Jarius Sneed to the Tennessee Titans.
The Chiefs can now add Hadden to a mix that includes Trent McDuffie, Jaylen Watson, Joshua Williams, Nic Jones, Ekow Boye-Doe, Nazeeh Johnson, and other fringe roster players.
So far, the Chiefs have added the following players to their draft class:
- Round 1 - Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas
- Round 2 - Kingsley Suamataia, OT, BYU
- Round 4 - Jared Wiley, TE, TCU
- Round 4 - Jaden Hicks, S, Washington State
- Round 5 - Hunter Nourzad, OL, Penn State
The Chiefs are only scheduled to make one more pick in the 2024 NFL Draft: a late pick in the seventh round at No. 248 overall, courtesy of the Buffalo Bills from their deal on Thursday.
