We've used the term "home run" to describe the last year or more for Travis Kelce on multiple occasions. We didn't realize at some point we'd also reference the literal home runs he'd hit—let alone crown him "home run derby champion."
The inaugural celebrity softball game hosted by Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku went down on Saturday, June 8, and the guest list was impressive.
The Chiefs star tight end was a bit hit on the diamond at David Njoku's celebrity softball game.
Njoku was smart to invite the best at his same position in the league, because Kelce's star has never been brighter. Between dating Taylor Swift and television appearances aplenty, Kelce brought a ton of attention to the game and it's charitable ends.
In addition to Kelce's inclusion, several of Njoku's football brethren were on hand, including numerous Browns teammates, including running back Nick Chubb, pass rusher Myles Garrett, quarterback Deshaun Watson and more. Former Browns quarterback Bernie Koser and former NFL wideout Dez Bryant also took part.
As for the home run derby, here's footage of Kelce cranking several pitches out of the park:
The rest of the festivities consisted of family-friendly events, a seven-inning softball game, a charity auction, meet-and-greet opps for fans, and more.
Kelce has remained present in and near his home region of Cleveland, Ohio ever since he was drafted by the Chiefs back in 2013 through his charity, 87 & Running.
