The Kansas City Chiefs wrapped up their 2024 training camp in style. According to Patrick Mahomes, the team celebrated with a pizza party, something that they've done every year.

Mahomes also revealed something that not many people probably would have predicted or really given much thought to. How much pizza can Chiefs fourth-string quarterback Ian Book eat? The answer to that is nine slices.

Nine slices of pizza in a single sitting is impressive considering a traditional large box of pizza is home to 10 slices. Book nearly ate a large pizza all by himself. Hey, at least he worked a lot of those carbs off in training camp, right?

Book signed with the Chiefs earlier this year after not sticking with any of his previous teams. He was a fourth-round draft pick by the New Orleans Saints in 2021 and started just one game for them that year. It did not go well.

Book also spent a brief amount of time with both the Eagles and Patriots before joining the back-to-back Super Bowl champion Chiefs. Obviously, Mahomes is the starting quarterback and Carson Wentz is going to be the backup so that leaves Chris Oladokun as his competition for the third-string job.

Book went 8-of-9 for 46 yards in his Chiefs preseason debut against the Jaguars while getting sacked three times. He's going to have to have one heck of a preseason if he wants to make it onto the roster but at least he'll be able to say he ate nine slices of pizza once and beat Mahomes in something. That's worth celebrating.
