Sign another defensive lineman
Adding another quality defensive lineman is always a prudent move for NFL teams, and the Kansas City Chiefs are no exception. Currently, the team boasts players such as George Karlaftis, Mike Danna, Felix Anudike-Uzomah, Charles Omenihu, and B.J. Thompson on the edge, with Chris Jones, Tershawn Wharton, and Keondre Coburn on the interior.
While the Chiefs possess a decent group at defensive end, comprising youthful talent, the defensive tackle position is lacking depth beyond Chris Jones. In my opinion, it would be more sensible for the team to focus on signing another defensive tackle if they were to add another lineman. There are intriguing options available in the free agent market, including Shelby Harris, Chris Wormley, and Ndamukong Suh. However, it's worth noting that Suh may not want to sign until just before the regular season.
Alternatively, the Chiefs could consider re-signing Carlos Dunlap or Frank Clark if they prefer to reinforce the defensive end position. Regardless, it would be wise for Kansas City to bolster its defensive line with an additional player, given the frequent rotation and susceptibility to injuries at the position. Whether they opt for a defensive tackle or defensive end, the acquisition of a free agent could yield significant dividends later in the season, just like Carlos Dunalp did last year.
