Several players are looking to build momentum off their strong performances in the season opener. Let’s take a look at five of them who gave reason for optimism moving forward.

4. Felix Anudike-Uzomah, defensive end

I mentioned last week in my bold predictions article that all Felix Anudike-Uzomah needed to do this season was create pressure. I stated the goal needed to be around 35 pressures on the season.

Well, the 2023 first-round pick came along even sooner than I expected. He did not come down with a sack but he did create two pressures and two quarterback hits in just 13 pass rush snaps, according to PFF. He was the Chiefs' highest-rated edge rusher in his first-ever NFL game.

He would average 34 pressures on the season keeping that pace, but you would think he would eventually eat up more than 13 pass rush snaps. If Spagnolo can let him loose, it will be something to watch and see what he does rushing Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence next week. Jacksonville’s passing game could be a bit more dynamic than Detroit’s was on Thursday night.
