Defensive Linemen (10)

• Charles Omenihu
• George Karlaftis
• Mike Danna
• Felix Anudike-Uzomah
• B.J. Thompson
• Chris Jones
• Derrick Nnadi
• Tershawn Wharton
• Keondre Coburn
• Danny Shelton

The defensive line room is by far the most intriguing of any other player grouping on the team. Given Chris Jones's pending contract negotiation and Omenihu's forthcoming position, I'd load up at this spot. Danny Shelton has been a bit of a surprise in the preseason and with Jones likely on a pitch count to start the year, the Chiefs could use the reinforcements. Rookie B.J. Thompson likely won't survive on the team's taxi squad so I'd roster him to protect him.

Linebackers (5)

• Nick Bolton
• Willie Gay, Jr.
• Drue Tranquill
• Leo Chenal
• Jack Cochrane

This is about what you'd expect at the linebacker position. There may have been a brief period where the final spot was up for grabs, but given his special teams prowess, that fifth slot belongs to Cochrane. That said, I do expect Cam Jones to be a priority to bring back for the team's practice squad. He did some good things in the preseason and is worth keeping around for future considerations. The Chiefs will have a decision to make with Gay pending free agency.
