The Kansas City Chiefs will host the Miami Dolphins in a first-round showdown that is set to be one of the coldest games in NFL Playoff history.

So, how do we handle this game from a betting stand point? One strategy may be to stick to player prop bets, which is what I'm going to talk about in this article.

Dolphins vs. Chiefs prop bets

  • Isiah Pacheco OVER 64.5 rushing yards
  • Patrick Mahomes OVER 27.5 rushing yards
  • Tua Tagovailoa UNDER 231.5 passing yards

Isiah Pacheco OVER 64.5 rushing yards

With the wind chill temperature threatening to be close to -30 degrees, the run game is going to most of upmost important in this game. Rain, snow and win can effect the passing game to a certain degree, but catching the ball becomes near impossible in this level of cold temperatures.

Isiah Pacheco ran for 66 yards in the Chiefs game against the Dolphins earlier this season and with them having to rely on the run even more this time around, I'd be surprised if he doesn't hit at least 66 yards once again.

Patrick Mahomes OVER 27.5 rushing yards

To continue off what I wrote above, the run game is going to prove to be important early and often in this game for both sides of the ball. Expect Patrick Mahomes to take off and run if he doesn't see anything open up quickly in the passing game.

He ran for 24 yards on six carries against the Dolphins earlier this season.

Tua Tagovailoa UNDER 231.5 passing yards

The Dolphins' key to success, even if the temperature wasn't what it's forecasted to be, is running the football. They would be smart to utilize a run-first strategy against the Chiefs tout secondary that has shut down quarterbacks all season.

Even when they had to throw the ball to try to create a comeback against the Chiefs in Germany, Tua still threw for just 193 yards in that contest. I think there's a chance he goes well under his set total of 231.5.
