Offense game ball: Shane Buechele

When watching this game, Shane Buechele seemed to have the greatest command of the offense compared to any other quarterback on the Chiefs. Kansas City found themselves down 17-0 early in the second quarter and then went on to score 24 points unanswered.

Buechele was a huge part of that. He completed 11 of 18 passes for 155 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception. He made young wide receivers Justyn Ross and Rashee Rice look good in their Chiefs debut. He also seemed to have chemistry with former fifth-round pick Cornell Powell.

Watching the game on Sunday, it seemed like Buechele has a chance to pass former Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert. Andy Reid likes to have those veteran quarterbacks on hand as the second-stringer, but this is something to keep an eye on.
