Chiefs vs Packers inactives: Deneric Prince will make NFL debut
By Matt Conner
The Kansas City Chiefs are nearly ready to hit the field in time for Sunday Night Football and a primetime match-up against the host Green Bay Packers. But before they do, it's time to unveil this week's list of inactive players to see who is available to play and who is going to be sitting on the sidelines as a scratch.
On this week's list, running back Jerick McKinnon is the biggest name to sit out in Week 13 on the sidelines, but we knew this already going into the game. In his place, Deneric Prince was promoted from the practice squad earlier this week to be available and it looks like he's set to make his NFL debut for the Chiefs if/when his number is called.
Also making his potential debut is another recent call-up in cornerback Ekow Boye-Doe, an undrafted signing by the Chiefs from K-State who impressed during the preseason. Instead of going with seventh-round choice Nic Jones on special teams and defense, the Chiefs are going with Boye-Doe which shows that the team's staff might be trying to contrast the young players to see who has the higher ceiling.
Nick Bolton is not playing in the game, but he's also not officially back on the active roster. Instead, the injured linebacker is in a special roster-exempted role on injured reserve. Yes, he's made his way back to practice this week in a limited capacity for the Chiefs, but the team has a 21-day window within which they must make room for him.
Here are the Chiefs inactives for Week 13
- RB Jerick McKinnon
- G/C Mike Caliendo
- DE BJ Thompson
- DE Malik Herrring
- DT Neil Farrell
- CB Nic Jones
