Chiefs vs Dolphins inactives: Wanya Morris, Xavien Howard out for Wild Card
By Matt Conner
Here are the players who will be sitting for one reason or another in the Wild Card round for the Chiefs and Dolphins.
The Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins are nearly ready to take the field for the start of what each team hopes is a deep postseason run. The only things that stand in their way are each other and the sub-zero feel of playing football at Arrowhead Stadium.
The Dolphins and Chiefs have already met this season on a neutral site in Frankfurt, Germany, and the Chiefs came away the victors by a final of 21-14. Kansas City owned the first half in that game and built a three-score lead but the Dolphins chipped away and took advantage of K.C.'s mistakes to make things closer at the end. That game was back in Week 9.
Both teams are missing key personnel at this stage of the season. For the Chiefs, they've already declared rookie left tackle Wanya Morris out for the game. Coming into the game, wide receivers Justyn Ross and Kadarius Toney were also designated as questionable and they'll remain on the outside looking in as both are inactive.
The Dolphins' list of injured players is quite long at this point and they've already ruled out cornerback Xavien Howard. The Dolphins also came in with key players questionable, especially on the offensive side in running back Raheem Mostert and wideout Jaylen Waddle. However, those questionable players will both be active.
Here's a list of the Chiefs inactive players:
- Justyn Ross, WR
- Kadarius Toney, WR
- BJ Thompson, DE
- Keith Taylor, CB
- Wanya Morris, OL
- Neil Farrell, DL
- Felix Anudike-Uzomah, DL
Here's a list of the Dolphins inactive players:

- Jevon Holland, DB
- Tyler Kroft, TE
- Kion Smith, OT
- Cam Smith, CB
- Xavien Howard, CB
