The Kansas City Chiefs travel to Empower Field at Mile High this week to face the hosting Denver Broncos. This is their second matchup in the past three weeks and Kansas City's third AFC West matchup in a row. The two played to a strange 19-8 score three weeks ago in Arrowhead, making this week's game seemingly close of both sides.

Arrowhead Addict writers predict this week's Kansas City Chiefs game.

The home Broncos are currently riding a 16-game losing streak to the Chiefs, making this seem like an easy win if history prevails. However, the close score in their previous matchup has some wondering if this is the Chiefs' dreaded trap game in 2023.

Where do our writers stand on the game? What should fans be watching for? We will find out, after we check the predictions standings through Week 7!

In the past two weeks, the Broncos' defense has started to look like the defense that was really good in 2022. They were playing historically bad previously, so it only could get better. The Chiefs' offense meanwhile seemed to have figured it out last week. Something has to give but I think Kansas City wins and covers the 7-point spread.

Week 8 is another division clash, and it could also be a "trap" game with the Chiefs looking ahead to their week nine battle with the Miami Dolphins in Germany. I predict this game to be closer than anyone wants, but the Chiefs will pull out another ugly win against the Denver Donkeys.

The Chiefs offense looks like it has found its groove in the last week, so expect that momentum to continue against Denver. The Broncos' defense has been one of the worst through the first seven weeks of the season. On the other side, the Chiefs have a top-tier defense that should keep pressure on Russell Wilson. This is a rematch from just two weeks ago, but it could get ugly fast. Kansas City has gained two big pieces in wide receiver Mecole Hardman and defensive lineman Charles Ominehu. I am glad that the Chiefs are not looking past Denver this week ahead of their international tilt next week. The Broncos have many similar tools that successful teams do, but just cannot piece things together, as evidenced by a 2-5 record. The Chiefs are mostly healthy and I trust Drue Tranquill to fill Nick Bolton's shoes well. The Chiefs' defense had a great showing against Los Angeles last week. Why not again against a below-average Broncos unit?

I expect more of what we've seen from the previous eight years. Denver is one of the worst teams in the NFL, and there's a strong case to be made for the Chiefs being the league's best behind a defense that is all of a sudden...fearsome. Unless Sean Payton decides to relive the Bountygate days on Sunday, K.C. should walk away with a 17th straight victory over a Denver team that at this point is more likely to be tanking for Caleb Williams than they are to be jockeying for any hope of a playoff berth. I like the Chiefs in an (of course) weirdly close game.

The primary thing I'm worried about for this game isn't the Broncos, it's looking ahead to the pivotal game against the Dolphins in Germany next week. I'm nervous the Chiefs will hold back a little on offense and make the game more competitive than necessary. Nonetheless, Kansas City will win and ride to 7-1.

Heading into Week 8, the Kansas City Chiefs are slated for their first divisional rematch as they meet the Denver Broncos in what could be a snowy day at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium. The Chiefs won a weird game in the first matchup 19-8. In the interim, the Chiefs posted 31 points against the Chargers while the Broncos could manage only 19 in a win over the Green Bay Packers. You might remember a snow game between these two teams in the 2019 season. That day, Patrick Mahomes dubbed himself a "snow-game guy" and went off for 340 passing yards and two touchdowns. Look for him to have a better day than he did in the October 12th contest. I also expect Isiah Pacheco to re-emerge.
Chiefs 23, Broncos 14

This one will be a laugher. Mahomes and company started looking like their old selves on offense last week and I don’t think things are going to take a step backwards. I think Pacheco and McKinnon have big games and win this one going away.
Chiefs 34, Broncos 18

I think the Chiefs offense will continue to roll with Rice going for 100 yards and a TD. Look for Trent McDuffie to get his first career interception.
Chiefs 28, Broncos 10
