The Chiefs bounced back from a disappointing Week 1 loss with an excellent all-around performance against Jacksonville, regaining control of the AFC West and putting the conference on notice that Kansas City is still the top dog.
Looking ahead to a home matchup with the lowly Chicago Bears, oddsmakers expect another dominant outing from the Chiefs.
Bears vs. Chiefs Week 3 Opening Odds
The Chiefs are MASSIVE home favorites against a Bears squad that has two double-digit losses on its resume so far.
Chicago lost, 38-20, to Green Bay and 27-17 to Tampa Bay, a pair of teams not expected to be on Kansas City's level. The Bears' defense is among the league's worst, while the offense hasn't yet taken the step forward many expected with Justin Fields still struggling from the pocket.
This is an interesting spot for the Chiefs, who have historically struggled as huge favorites. Kansas City has 13 consecutive wins as a double-digit favorite, but the team covered the spread just five times in that stretch.
It's worth noting the Chiefs covered the spread in four of their last six as a double-digit favorite at home, holding their opponent to 10 points or fewer each time they covered.
Chicago is in desperate need of a signature win, so Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs should anticipate the Bears' best effort. If oddsmakers are to be believed, though, that won't make much of a difference.
