The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly set to host a free agent visit with wide receiver Zay Jones on Thursday, according to NFL reporter Adam Schefter.

According to Schefter, it's the fourth free agent visit for Jones since being released by the Jacksonville Jaguars in recent days.

The Chiefs are kicking the tires on another potential free agent addition at wide receiver in Zay Jones.

Jones's visit to the Chiefs comes at an interesting time given the cloud of uncertainty surrounding Chiefs wideout Rashee Rice. Rice is already expected to face a potentially significant suspension for his arrest and involvement in a multi-vehicle accident in Dallas earlier this offseason that led to eight felony charges. Then, earlier this week, came reports that Rice had allegedly hit a photographer at a Dallas nightclub.

The Chiefs were already thin enough at the position that the team used its first-round pick on one (Texas WR Xavier Worthy) and grabbed another major target in free agency (Marquise Brown). But with the news that Rice could be in hot water, the Chiefs could use another reliable target given the amount of questions at the position.

Per Schefter, Jones has already spent time with the Tennessee Titans, Dallas Cowboys, and Arizona Cardinals on his free agent tour. The Jags released Jones after an injury plagued season in '23, his second year in Jacksonville.

Jones is a seven-year NFL veteran who began his career with the Buffalo Bills. He has 287 career catches for 3,028 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns since 2017.
