The Chiefs wideout was forced to leave Sunday's game with a swollen knee.

The Kansas City Chiefs added another name to the list of players on injured reserve on Monday with the announcement that wide receiver Skyy Moore will be out for an extended period with a swollen knee.

Moore first injured his knee on Sunday afternoon in Week 15 in the team's win over the New England Patriots in Foxborough.

So far this season, Moore has been perhaps the single biggest disappointment on the offensive side of the ball (although there's plenty of competition to be had). After being taken in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Moore was given a starting role in the offense and yet he remains rarely targeted by quarterback Patrick Mahomes with an obvious lack of trust and/or chemistry at work between the players.

Through 14 games, Moore has only 21 catches for 244 yards and 1 touchdown. The first two figures fall short of his unimpressive rookie totals from last year, which means that given his injury status, Moore might end his sophomore season with even less production than before.

The Chiefs announced the roster opening without making any further announcements about who might step into the role, but it makes sense that Justyn Ross could be coming back from the commissioner's exemption list after having served a six-game suspension earlier this year.

Over the last several weeks, the Chiefs have also lost offensive tackle Prince Tega Wanogho, wide receiver Mecole Hardman, and safety Bryan Cook to injured reserve as well.
