Looking back, it was a near-miraculous turnaround for the Kansas City Chiefs front line.

In a single offseason, the Chiefs' front office, led by general manager Brett Veach, completely rebuilt the team's offensive line, left to right, after a disastrous showing in Super Bowl LV against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In a miserable 31-9 blowout loss, star quarterback Patrick Mahomes was hounded from every position along the Bucs' defensive line as numerous backups tried to hold it together in the biggest game of the year.

The blocking debacle in the biggest game of the year wasn't for lack of talent. Instead, it was the end result of a long, grueling season in which numerous injuries took out even the most reliable performers. In that single season, Eric Fisher would go from franchise pillar to released thanks to a torn Achilles suffered in the conference championship. Even worse, Mitchell Schwartz would go from NFL ironman to retirement.

In the wake of the loss, Veach and company went to work and they did so quickly. They rid themselves of any lingering questions and went to work on answers. They chased Trent Williams and landed Joe Thuney. They drafted Creed Humphrey and Trey Smith. They traded for Orlando Brown Jr., experimented with Kyle Long, and bolstered the line with Mike Remmers.

Just like that, the Chiefs' fortunes had changed. Thuney was an immediate anchor up front. Humphrey turned into a Pro Bowl caliber center. Trey Smith was an instant mauler at right guard. The interior became the NFL's best and the tackles weren't too bad either.

While some changes are still being made at bookends after an offseason in which the Chiefs imported rookie Wanya Morris from Oklahoma and free agents Donovan Smith of the Bucs and Jawaan Taylor of the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Chiefs' offensive line is still among the most respected in the league. They were that way last season and even the previous year.

It's funny how quickly things can turn around.

The folks at Pro Football Focus just came out with their 2023 offensive line rankings and the Chiefs are coming in at No. 3 overall, just behind the Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns. That's a testament to the strength at several positions considering Donovan Smith is coming off of a career-worst season. Then again, Morris is being given plenty of reps early in minicamp and Lucas Niang is also there for competition.

At this point, the Chiefs look very deep for another long postseason run. Last year's Lombardi Trophy proves that Veach's efforts were exactly what this team needed and now the tackles have been remade. The Chiefs line is one of the best protecting the very best in the middle of the action.

The Chiefs Super Bowl championship rings will be revealed on Thursday (Chiefs Wire)

We can't wait to see what this year's bling will bring. (Do people still say that?) Either way, the fact that we're talking about a second ring in four seasons still feels bananas, doesn't it?

Ja'Marr Chase adds fuel to Bengals-Chiefs rivalry (FOX)

When asked about the best quarterback in the league and what Joe Burrow said, Chase asked "Pat who?" as if Mahomes wasn't the obvious answer there. It's fun to see teams volley back and forth like this in the offseason, especially since the Chiefs' division rivals aren't putting up much of a fight these days.
