An offseason filled with drama and turmoil for the Kansas City Chiefs continues to unfold with a new chapter. This time, it's defensive end Isaiah Buggs who has been accused of animal cruelty.
According to the Tuscaloosa Patch, Buggs will reportedly face two misdemeanor charges of animal cruelty after neglected and malnourished dogs were found on a property he'd rented and abandoned earlier this spring.
According to the Tuscaloosa Patch, Chiefs defensive end Isaiah Buggs has been accused of animal cruelty.
No charges have yet been filed but civil allegations of animal cruelty had been levied against Buggs, a former star at Alabama who had been the most recent occupant of that property. Authorities have reportedly tried to get ahold of Buggs but were unable to do so. Now, he's expected to face two misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty.
Buggs signed with the Chiefs before the postseason began last winter in the hopes of bringing more security up front along the defensive front. Buggs was then brought back on a futures deal for this offseason in the hopes of competing up front for a run-stuffing rotational role with Derrick Nnadi, Matt Dickerson, Mike Pennell, and Neil Farrell.
Buggs' arrest is the latest event that the Chiefs would rather forget about this offseason. From a controversial graduation speech from Harrison Butker at Benedictine College to multiple investigations into Rashee Rice to recent marijuana arrests for Wanya Morris and Jason Godrick, the Chiefs have been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
