Chiefs news: Demand for KC football forces airlines to create new flights
By Matt Conner
Teams demand greatness, but greatness apparently has demands of its own.
The Kansas City Chiefs are good for business in so many ways. Just ask the folks at Southwest Airlines who are having to add several more flights for the upcoming NFL season to keep up with customer demand.
The Chiefs aren't the only team creating such a stir on the Southwest schedule, but it's interesting to see the team as one of the primary franchises bringing 42 new flights to bring fans and travelers closer to 21 NFL games this season.
Southwest published a list of the games that were causing demand to swell in specific regions and the resulting new flights on their part earlier this week. The Chiefs were involved in four of the 21 total games.
Here are the four contests for the Chiefs creating such demand:
- Week 1 - Baltimore Ravens at Kansas City Chiefs (TNF)
- Week 5 - New Orleans Saints at Kansas City Chiefs (MNF)
- Week 8 - Kansas City Chiefs at Las Vegas Raiders
- Week 11 - Kansas City Chiefs at Buffalo Bills
