As the Kansas City Chiefs continue their preparation to host the Los Angeles Chargers for the first of their two scheduled games for the 2023 regular season, the home team is looking about as healthy as a team could hope—and they're even getting reinforcements.

The Chiefs have had their share of injury concerns so far this season, but as they practice for Week 7, the actual injury report features only a single player who has been unable to participate: wide receiver Justin Watson. And there's even good news with Watson given that he's a known injured quantity, and it's even a bit surprising to see him stay on the active roster instead of injured reserve.

What will help with Watson is the addition of wide receiver Mecole Hardman, who was acquired via trade from the New York Jets earlier this week for a low-level draft pick swap in 2025.

As for the rest of the injured list, there are several players dealing with varied injury concerns but none of them have even limited a player in practice. That's very good news given that the Chiefs have watched Travis Kelce, Nick Bolton, L'Jarius Sneed, Kadarius Toney, and others all face doubts about playing in previous weeks.

In addition to a healthy roster, the Chiefs will look to add Hardman for at least some snaps in his first week back with the team's offense, and he immediately adds a top-speed factor that others on the team cannot match. In addition, defensive lineman Charles Omenihu is scheduled to make his debut in Week 7 as well, giving defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo another pass rusher to rotate into the mix.
