Chiefs getting snubbed in latest NFL ranking is perfect bulletin board material
'Tis the season where we focus heavily on what people from sites like Bleacher Report, CBS Sports, and Pro Football Focus have to say. After all, there aren't any NFL games being played until August when preseason kicks off, so why not yell at clouds whenever one of these sites diss the Kansas City Chiefs in some way?
The latest cloud-yelling stems from an article by Maurice Moton of Bleacher Report who ranked the top 10 cornerback units in the NFL for 2024. The Chiefs aren't on the list. The nerve!
The Chiefs traded L'Jarius Sneed in the offseason or they'd have most certainly made the cut considering they'd have had him and Trent McDuffie, who has been sensational since entering the league two years ago. Now that Sneed is gone, the starting corners are likely going to be McDuffie, Jaylen Watson, and Joshua Williams.
Chiefs CBs left off top 10 ranking
The good news for Chiefs Kingdom is that this team uses silly things like this as motivation. You don't think McDuffie, Watson, and Williams have heard the chatter of them not being as good now that Sneed is gone? I'm sure they have and we've seen how things tend to go when people doubt the Chiefs. They just hit back harder.
It's also important to recall just how seamlessly the Chiefs played even after losing Charvarius Ward the previous season. There's a reason the Chiefs keep the cupboards stocked with young talent that the team's coaches can develop.
For those wondering about who did make the list of best cornerbacks, the Cowboys, Browns, and Jets made the top three and that's hard to argue against.
The good news is that seasons aren't won or lost based on articles from Bleacher Report so Chiefs fans can rest easy and know that Steve Spagnuolo will do what he can to ensure that the KC secondary doesn't miss a beat in 2024.
