Round 7 (No. 221) - Jaylan Ford, LB, Texas

Ford is a bigger linebacker product at 6'2, 240 lbs. who has been a very productive linebacker for the Longhorns for the last two seasons. He had 110 tackles including 10.5 for a loss in 2023 and was a first-team All-Big 12 selection in both '22 and '23.

For a player with such an imposing frame and respectable size/strength blend, it might be surprising to see Ford drop so low, but there are myriad concerns from scouts about playing strength and instincts which could stunt his growth as a pro player.

That said, the Chiefs are searching for Dave Toub's men at this point and Ford's experience in special teams coverage along with his production make him a good addition to the linebacking corps.
