The Kansas City Chiefs will play their first AFC West matchup in Week 6 when they host the Denver Broncos.

After losing their season opener, the Chiefs have won four-straight and are once again looking like Super Bowl contenders. Meanwhile, the Denver Broncos seem to be a dumpster fire as the Sean Payton experiment has not gone as planned.

Chiefs vs. Broncos key players to watch

Kansas City Chiefs

Kadarius Toney: If Travis Kelce is out, the pressue is going to fall on the wide receivers for the Chiefs which could shape up being a great outing for Kadarius Toney. After a disastrous opening week, he's third on the team in targets with 19 and now he gets to face a Broncos secondary that's last in both opponent completion percentage and opponent yards per throw.

Denver Broncos

Jaleel McLaughin: Since Javonte Williams suffered an injury, running back Jaleel McLaughlin has stepped up in his absence and he's been fantastic in doing so. He's averaging 7.3 yards per carry so far this season, while adding in seven receptions for 46 yards and two touchdowns. The running game is going to be key for the Broncos if they want to stay in this once, so a lot of pressure will be on McLaughlin's shoulders.

Broncos vs. Chiefs prediction and pick

There's no chance I'm betting on the Broncos in this spot. I'm aware they have given the Chiefs fits in recent years in terms of covering the spread, but their defense in 2023 is historically bad.

Heading into this game, the Broncos defense is allowing opposing quarterbacks to complete 77.27% of passes against them while giving up 8.5 yards per throw, both marks are the worst in the league by a wide margin. Now, this secondary has to try to slow down the reigning NFL MVP? Good luck.

You can add in the fact the Chiefs defense is arguably the best its been in the Mahomes era and I just can't see how the Broncos are going to keep pace in this game. I'll back Kansas City to win and cover this big spread.
