Bo Nix continues to provide comic gold for Chiefs fans as Broncos QB

At least he's honest.

The Kansas City Chiefs are 2-0 and life is good for the back-to-back defending Super Bowl champions. Meanwhile, the Denver Broncos are 0-2 and aren't feeling so good. They're coming off a loss where the opposing team scored one touchdown and somehow that was enough for the win.

To make matters worse, the start of the Bo Nix era has not gone well. The Broncos spent the 12th overall pick on Nix in this year's draft and after lighting it up in the preseason, Broncos fans got a heavy dose of reality when the regular season began and Nix turned back into a pumpkin.

In two games with Nix at the helm, the former Oregon quarterback has thrown for 384 yards, zero touchdowns, and four interceptions. He does have a rushing touchdown on his résumé though so that's something to file away in the positive category.

There was a moment in the Broncos game when it looked like maybe -- just maybe -- Nix was rounding the corner and starting to figure things out. Nix completed a 49-yard pass down the field to set the Broncos up in a goal-to-go situation and it looked like maybe he'd be able to get his team on the scoreboard.

Well, two plays later, Nix threw an interception into the waiting arms of Cory Trice. Just like that, the scoring threat was eliminated and Nix had another bad pick on his résumé.

Following the game, Nix was asked about the interception and gave a hilarious response. The reporter asked if Nix could talk them through the pick that occurred in the end zone to which Nix responded by looking annoyed and saying, "Dropped back, threw it to the other team."

Yeah, that's certainly a good explanation of what happened. What makes this funny is that the reporter clearly wanted Nix to explain what he saw on the play that made him feel comfortable making that throw but instead Nix gave a smart alleck answer. He must get that from his head coach.

While it's only been two games and there's time for Nix to figure things out, it's fun to watch him and the Broncos start 0-2 and look atrocious to start the year. The Chiefs and Broncos don't meet until November so who knows if Nix is even still the starter at that point. If he keeps playing like he has through two weeks, let's hope that he is still the starter then.
