As the Kansas City Chiefs' preseason finale got underway on Thursday night, fans were delighted to see that the team and center Creed Humphrey agreed on an extension. Humphrey's new deal will pay him $50 million guaranteed and will tie him to the Chiefs through 2028.

As expected, social media didn't disappoint with the news of Humphrey's contract. From former teammates applauding Humphrey to people laughing at the Cowboys (because every occasion calls for that) to analysts breaking down the news, let's look at some of the best tweets from Humphrey's record-breaking extension.

First, we have Kyler Murray giving Humphrey a round of applause. The two played together at Oklahoma with Humphrey snapping the ball to the 2018 Heisman Trophy winner.

Gabe Ikard and Creed Humphrey didn't play together at Oklahoma, but the respect is clearly there. Ikard even gives his fellow Sooner alum advice on how to spend that newly-acquired money.

Jordan Schultz tweeted about the news shortly after it happened and noted that this extension will put Humphrey in a spot where he can land another massive deal before he turns 30 years old in 2029.

Remember when I said people were poking fun at the Cowboys? Well, here's why. Humphrey got paid before Ceedee Lamb landed his massive extension from Dallas and because it has to do with the Cowboys, we all can join in and laugh about this.

This deal surprised Joshua Brisco only because of the $4.5 million AAV. The Chiefs made sure that Humphrey was happy with this contract, that's for sure.

For those confused by what Brisco tweeted, don't worry, you're not alone. He explained what he meant in a follow-up tweet.

Can we put this clip on repeat please?

Yeah, this feels about right.
