The Big Three

3. Buffalo Bills

Average Rank: 2.92
High Ranking: 2
Low Ranking: 4

The Bills' rankings were incredibly consistent throughout the rankings I looked at. I think the Bills have earned this spot, but I wouldn't be shocked if some of the teams in the tier below catch up with them this season. Something is off with the Josh Allen/Stefon Diggs relationship, they can't seem to keep Allen from playing a superhero in the run game, and at some point, I think those two things are going to catch up with them. They have the talent to win the Super Bowl this season, but it wouldn't take much of a let-up for the Jets and Dolphins to jump them in their own division.

2. Cincinnati Bengals

Average Rank: 2.25
High Ranking: 1
Low Ranking: 3

The Bengals appear to be the clear number two team behind the Chiefs going into the season. That's understandable after they went down to the wire with the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game last season and made the Super Bowl the previous year. The Bengals and Chiefs rivalry doesn't appear to be going away any time soon. The Bengals may not have a Super Bowl win to their credit yet, but they're once again in a position to try and get over the hump this season.

1. Kansas City Chiefs

Average Rank: 1.17
High Rank: 1
Low Rank: 3

The Chiefs were number one in eleven of the twelve power rankings that I looked at. Walter Football had them at #3 behind both the Bengals and Bills (think of that what you will). That one "interesting" ranking aside, the Chiefs are still the consensus top team in the AFC (and all the NFL). Almost all these rankings have blurbs about each team. My favorite blurb about the Chiefs was from Pro Football Network, which simply said "Reid. Mahomes. Super Bowl Champions." I think that pretty much sums things up.

So do you agree with these consensus AFC Power Rankings? Is there any team you think is way too high or way too low? Do you agree that the most interesting part of these results is how there doesn't seem to be any real consensus in the order of the 2nd tier teams? I'd love to read your thoughts in the comments below.
