A complete list of Kansas City Chiefs 2024 NFL draft choices
By Matt Conner
The official 2024 NFL Draft order is finally set with the turn of the league calendar to the start of another year. While the first round has been settled for quite some time, every franchise has still been forced to wait until the secret calculations of the NFL's compensatory process. That has now been settled.
For the sake of catching up, every year a total of 32 compensatory picks are awarded to teams that have suffered the greatest losses in free agency from the previous spring. The formula is actually secret, although there are solid projections out there to be found, which is why everyone has to wait for the NFL to reveal it shortly before free agency is ready to begin a new league year.
The Chiefs have been awarded an extra pick due to the NFL compensatory process.
Every compensatory pick comes between rounds three through seven in the draft, and this year the Kansas City Chiefs were awarded a pick after round five at No. 172 overall. That added pick gives the Chiefs seven overall selections after having traded some away in previous deals.
The Chiefs were awarded the pick in the fifth round based on the free agents they lost a year ago versus those they signed. Those outgoing included WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, OT Orlando Brown Jr., safety Juan Thornhill, and others. Even after the Chiefs signed some players like Jawaan Taylor and Charles Omenihu, they were still awarded that fifth-round choice.
Here's a look at the list of Kansas City Chiefs draft picks at present:
- 1st Round - No. 32 overall
- 2nd Round - No. 64
- 3rd Round - No. 95
