2023 hasn't been the season Edwards hoped for and with running mate Blake Corum likely declaring for the draft, it wouldn't be surprising to see him stay in school another year. However, 2022 Edwards was one of the most explosive backs in college football with 10 carries over 20 yards or more. Edwards is a natural pass catcher that would integrate well into an NFL offense. He has room to grow as a pass blocker but some view him as the better NFL back from the Michigan offense

The Chiefs have one returning running back (Pacheco) from their current rotation. With an injury history starting for Pachecho and the lack of depth behind him the Chiefs need running backs. Edwards could profile as a nice complimentary back who can both run outside zone, power and catch the ball out of the back field. The Chiefs have struggled to have a back do all 3 things recently.
