Question #3: Will the Chiefs' WRs step up for the playoff run?

As the playoffs approach, it will be crucial for teams to have their wide receivers perform at their best. Sadly, the Chiefs have not seen that at any point this season. The team will go as far as Kansas City's pass catchers allow them, and the Chiefs need more options to step up.

We have been saying it for weeks or months at this point. Rookie Rashee Rice has proven himself and is entrenched as this team's top wide receiver. Outside of him, though, the options are sparse and bleak. Players' inability to separate from defenders or simply catch a ball has limited quarterback Patrick Mahomes' impact all year long.

Who steps up will not become clear until after the fact. Marquez Valdes-Scantling's last good game came in the AFC championship game. Maybe he is waiting until the next postseason game to play well. Mecole Hardman excited fans in the season finale, but will he keep the momentum rolling? Can the combination of Richie James and Justin Watson provide Mahomes with some safety blanket targets?

There are more questions than answers. All we can do is predict and react. It is up to the Chiefs coaches and players to prepare and produce. But the pass-catching issues will severely hamper Kansas City's Super Bowl chances until, well, they don't.
