Denico Autry

New contract: 2 years, $20 million from the Houston Texans

Maybe this is getting a bit pricey. And yes, Autry is getting a bit old. But even at the age of 33, it's quite possible that Autry represents the single best deal in free agency this spring so far.

The Houston Texans landed Autry away from the Tennessee Titans on a two-year deal worth up to $20M total. This comes after he put up 11.5 sacks last year as an interior lineman. Lest you think Autry is a one-year wonder, he's averaged over 8 sacks per season for the last six years. And it's not just the system since half of that time came with the Colts and the other half in Nashville.

For the Chiefs this is likely too much for a pass-rushing presence along the interior since Chris Jones was already there. So let's call this the move they should have made if Jones did not stick around. Still, Autry at this price tag was just too good not to highlight. The Texans have a good idea of what they are doing these days and this deal shows it.
