2024 NFL Draft Order if season ended today: Chiefs are (happily) sinking in first round
By Matt Conner
The top 18 slots in the NFL Draft are officially set while the Chiefs are happily sinking in the draft order.
With their win in the Wild Card round, the Kansas City Chiefs advanced further into the NFL postseason and earned their chance to be among the final eight franchises vying for a Super Bowl championship. The slight downside for K.C. with the win, however, is that they sink a bit further into the official 2024 NFL Draft order.
Of course, no one in Kansas City—both those inside of Arrowhead or outside of it—is complaining at this stage. Picking early feels nice for one weekend every April, but beyond that, it's miserable being one of the league's worst teams.
Plus you can ask the Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders, or Los Angeles Chargers what advantage it's given them to have earlier picks than the Chiefs every year for the last eight years.
As for this year's NFL Draft order, the top 18 picks have been cemented with the completion of the final week of the regular season and another six teams have joined them with cemented spots following the close of the Wild Card round on Monday night. Let's take a look at those picks and how the rest currently fall in line.
