11 Chiefs players who could be making their final playoff run in Kansas City
Justin Watson, Wide Receiver
Despite the need for the Chiefs to rebuild their wide receiver room, along with Rashee Rice, Justin Watson could also return.
Although many fans aren't exactly too keen on bringing Watson back, he is a solid NFL receiver who is much better suited for a depth role as the #3 or #4 wide receiver. Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid trust him and he's also been very good on deep balls throughout his brief Chiefs tenure.
Remember that Watson already signed a multi-year deal last offseason (at 2 years, $3.4M) which means he's already under contract for cheap next year. That will allow for some familiarity at a position that should see a lot of changes in the offseason.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Wide Receiver
Should I waste much time here? I will not. MVS has had a season to forget, riddled with poorly timed drops, a lack of separation, and poor production in general. Releasing him will net the Chiefs $12M in cap space, which they will almost assuredly use to sign his replacement.
MVS has paid some dividends for this team, like in the 2022-23 AFC Championship victory over the Bengals, but he's no longer able to serve in the role he was brought in to fill.
