Podcast: Determining which Chiefs' problems are real or fake in the long run
By Matt Conner
Join Sterling Holmes and Adam Best for the latest AA podcast episode on a Wacky Wednesday sorting out the Chiefs' "problems."
The Kansas City Chiefs certainly have a lot of "problems" these days, especially for a team that's 9-1. You'd think that the franchise in the driver's seat for the top seed in the AFC and with a multiple game lead in the AFC would have earned the benefit of the doubt, but somehow that's not the case these days for Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.
After losing to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday in Week 11, a 30-21 loss on the road in a game highlighted by Josh Allen's heroics, the Chiefs left with some specific areas to focus upon for the road ahead. Every player and staff member even acknowledged as much in the aftermath of the event, but somehow fans are making it far worse than that.
Instead of realizing that two good teams playing against one another means that one good one will lose, some Chiefs fans are amplifying needs and distorting narratives. Patrick Mahomes sucks. Travis Kelce is washed. Andy Reid and his staff are stupid. The defense is horrible. Xavier Worthy is a bust.
Even some of the more nuanced "concerns" or "problems" are really short-term issues. Players will come back from injury. Coaches will adjust. Young players will grow. New acquisitions will find their footing.
So which of the Chiefs' current issues are real and which are fake? What problems will really be an issue when the postseason hits? On the latest episode of the Arrowhead Addict podcast, Wacky Wednesday hosts Adam Best and Sterling Holmes sat down to discuss all of this and more!
