It sure looked like Lionel Messi and the Argentina men's national team were about to be knocked out of the 2026 World Cup. Down 2-0 to Egypt with 78 minutes in the book and only 12 minutes and some stoppage time to go, Argentina fought back.

First, it was a goal by Cristian Romero in the 79th minute to cut Egypt's lead in half. Then, the GOAT did what he does best by putting the ball in the back of the net in the 83rd minute to equalize. Enzo Fernández gave the Argentinians their first lead of the match just two minutes into stoppage time and that was enough to get them through to the quarterfinals. They'll continue on in their quest to defend their title as reigning champs.

Patrick Mahomes was watching with the rest of the world and had the perfect response to Messi's equalizing goal. His reaction? A simple goat emoji. Well said, Pat. Sometimes less truly is more.

Mahomes knows a thing or two about clutchness. His Kansas City Chiefs were down by double-digit points with roughly nine minutes to go in Super Bowl 54 against the 49ers but went on to win the game by double-digits. The effort was enough to earn Mahomes the first of three Super Bowl MVP trophies.

That performance was even more impressive considering that it was Mahomes' first Super Bowl appearance and, despite a poor performance through the first three quarters, he bounced back and helped lead K.C. to its first Super Bowl win in 50 years. That wasn't it for Mahomes on the big stage, however.

Three years later, Mahomes went toe-to-toe with Jalen Hurts of the Eagles in Super Bowl 57 despite having suffered a high-ankle sprain before the half. It was one heck of a show that the former first-round pick put on and one that Chiefs fans will remember forever.

One year later, in Super Bowl 58, he helped get K.C. its third Super Bowl win in five years with a heroic effort in overtime. The guy, like Lionel Messi, is inevitable.
