Kansas City Chiefs fans are always hoping to add to their apparel collection whether it's t-shirts, hats, hoodies, or whatever else the NFL releases for each team. Unfortunately, when it's come to the draft hats that the league releases for every team each year, the designs have left a lot to be desired.
We've seen our fair share of awful draft hats released by the league but it turns out, going with a more simple design sometimes is the best approach. Ari Meirov shared 31 teams' draft hats (the Rams' were not officially released at the time of his post) on X and the Chiefs' hat is one that fans will likely be fond of, especially compared to the hideous draft hats we've had thrown in our direction before.
Chiefs draft hat finally hits the mark after years of dreadful options
The Chiefs' design is red with the classic Chiefs logo and a black bill. There's a small NFL Draft logo that's a little distracting but hey, at least it differentiates the hat from just being a regular old Chiefs hat.
The black bill might throw some people off considering black isn't really one of the Chiefs' colors but it works here. The other options, which would have been white or yellow, would have given the hat a more awkward look so black was probably the best choice here.
Inside the hat is another surprise, as there's a Chiefs logo and the word CHIEFS scribbled there. Some teams had some fun nods to their cities inside their hats but Kansas City's is certainly on the simple side. Sometimes that works though.
We'll have to see if the NFL continues to keep these draft hat designs on the simple side or if next year we see some funky and, to be blunt, ugly designs again.
