The Nebraska Cornhuskers have finalized what has been in the works for quite some time with the official hiring of Terry Bradden to be the team's

The rumors of Bradden's likely departure for the college ranks from Andy Reid's coaching staff first emerged in mid-December as the regular season was drawing to a close to for the Chiefs. Bradden posted a meaningful message on social media as he said goodbye to Chiefs Kingdom.

Bradden has been a fixture on the defensive coaching staff for the Chiefs since 2017, when he started as a general assistant under Bob Sutton. From there, he was made a quality control coach on that side of the ball in 2018 and remained there through the transition from Sutton to Steve Spagnuolo even as the rest of the staff weathered significant turnover.

Bradden is one of myriad changes to the defensive coaching staff for the Chiefs.

Bradden was eventually promoted to assistant defensive line coach four seasons ago and he's served in that role under Joe Cullen since his arrival in 2022.

The Cornhuskers hired Bradden to serve as their defensive line coach, which gives him a chance to serve as a lead positional coach for the first time and he'll do so at a major college program. That sort of experience should serve him well as he looks to continue to climb up the coaching ladder.

The Chiefs have already lost assistant defensive backs coach Donald D'Alesio to the Baltimore Ravens this offseason. They've also added former linebackers coach Matt House back to the staff as a senior defensive analyst. Former Wisconsin linebacker Chris Orr has also joined the team after starting his coaching career last season as a LB coach at Jackson State.
