It's hard to complain too much if you're a Kansas City Chiefs fan. The team has vastly improved over the past decade and transformed from a team that would always get bounced early in the playoffs to now representing the AFC in the Super Bowl more often than not.
Even with the Super Bowl wins and other accolades the Chiefs have stacked up in recent years, it's hard not to feel left out whenever a key player wants out of their current situation and knowing it's not possible for K.C. to be a realistic candidate. The latest example of this is the drama between star pass-rusher Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys, who drafted Parsons in the first round in 2021.
The Cowboys continue to kick the can down the road when it comes to paying Parsons and the two don't appear to be reaching an agreement on anything any time soon. In fact, things have gotten so strained between Parsons and the Cowboys that Adam Schefter recently said while appearing on ESPN Radio that a divorce could be happening.
"Could a deal happen? Yes. There's zero indication that it's going to happen. It sounds like, at some point in time, whether that's now, after the season, after two seasons, like the two sides are headed towards a divorce."

For most NFL fanbases, this would be when you'd excitedly discuss the possibilities of landing Parsons in a trade and what it might take to make that happen. Chiefs fans, however, know the sad reality is that their team has little to no shot in acquiring the star pass-rusher.
First and foremost, the Chiefs' salary cap situation wouldn't be one that could accomodate Parsons. They're not in as bad of shape as they've typically been in recent years but Parsons is going to command a lot of money and the Chiefs will need that dough to shore up other spots on their team.
Secondly, the asking price to acquire Parsons in a trade would be quite a lot. If the Chiefs want to continue to be contenders, they need their draft picks because those provide them with young, less expensive players, which makes it easier to pay the already-proven guys on the roster.
Would it be a lot of fun to see the Chiefs trade for Parsons? Absolutely! But Chiefs fans have learned the hard reality of being a Super Bowl contender year after year and that's that it's going to be next to impossible for them to land a superstar like this in a trade. All things considered, it could be a much worse situation we're in so it's hard to complain too much.
