Remember when players nearing the end of their careers would sign with the New England Patriots to try and win a Super Bowl before it was too late? The Kansas City Chiefs are likely entering that territory (if they haven't already) but not everyone is on board with joining the Chiefs to ring chase.
Las Vegas Raiders pass-rusher Maxx Crosby is in that camp despite the most important thing to him at this stage of his career is winning. While appearing on Up & Adams during Super Bowl media week, Crosby said that he's taking his contract situation day-by-day but he wants to win. That being said, he clearly doesn't want to win THAT badly, as he said joining the Chiefs is not something on his radar.
"I don't wanna join the damn Chiefs and get a Super Bowl. That would mean nothing to me," Crosby told Kay Adams.
Maxx Crosby wants to win, but has no interest in doing so with Chiefs
The Raiders selected Crosby in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft and he's been one of their bright spots in recent years. He had a bit of a down year in 2024 but a big part of that was the fact that he missed five games but still, he had the second-fewest sacks of his career with 7.5.
Even though Crosby's main goal is to win (something the Raiders haven't done much of since he's been on the team), it's not surprising that the guy has no interest in joining Kansas City. Crosby faces the Chiefs twice a year and if they're not his least favorite team in the league, it's hard to imagine that they're not at least close to receiving that honor.
So yeah, these comments from Crosby aren't surprising but it's still funny that his main goal is to win yet he doesn't want to join the team where all they do is win. Good luck trying to win a Super Bowl with no quarterback, Maxx.
