Maxx Crosby just confirmed what every Raiders fan feared

The Las Vegas Raiders might be forced to trade their best player before this year's draft, according to Jay Glazer.

According to Jay Glazer, Maxx Crosby is done with the Las Vegas Raiders.

During a recent interview before Super Bowl LV with Yahoo! Sports Daily, Glazer spoke about Crosby's frustrations with the Raiders' organization after enjoying only one winning seasons in seven years with the franchise. And as Glazer puts it, he thinks Crosby's time with the Raiders is up.

When asked directly if he thought Crosby's time with the Raiders was done, Glazer responded with the word "I do." He also agreed that a move is coming before the 2026 NFL Draft. When quoting Crosby, Glazer said he'd been told, "I'm not going through another rebuild."

The Raiders hold the top pick in this spring's draft due to their status as the worst team in the league. It was a rough finish for Crosby who finished the year on injured reserve after playing in 15 games. A knee injury sidelined him in late December, but Crosby posted about his hopes following a successful surgery by early January.

The Las Vegas Raiders might be forced to trade their best player before this year's draft, according to Jay Glazer.

What could the Raiders expect in terms of a potential trade return? Glazer believes it would be an astronomical haul knowing just how rare pass rushers like Crosby would be. He even referred to the recent Micah Parsons deal between the Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers, in which Dallas netted two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark.

"Probably more than Micah," said Glazer. "So the day it happened, no less than 20 teams called me and asked, 'Dude, is this real? Can we get him? What's it for?' I thought, 'Oh my god, we're not there yet,' but yes, it's real."

A trade of Crosby might make sense for a Raiders team that's going nowhere in the very near future. If a team can recoup significant assets for an elite player who is only going to waste his greatest productivity for a moribund franchise, then it should do so. That said, Crosby is a franchise icon and one of the league's greatest defensive players. The likelihood is that things could somehow get even worse for Las Vegas before they potentially improve.

Crosby has six career sacks against the Chiefs in 13 matchups, but even his outsized influence can only do so much. He's 2-11 in those games against K.C., and it's hard to imagine that gets any better with the lack of impact talent on both sides of the ball. It's possible the Raiders will turn things around under new head coach Klint Kubiak, but rebuilding takes time, and Crosby has seen it before.

If nothing else, trading Crosby would go all-in for the future while guaranteeing the Raiders will once again occupy the basement of the AFC West. Considering the Chiefs were in third, that's at least some measure of comfort that they won't sink any lower if they can't fix their own roster concerns for 2026.
